Sherri Lee Tranel – Sherri L. Tranel, 47, went to her heavenly reward on May 31, 2018. Sherri always had a smile on her face, loved playing bingo and dice (she was a gambler), wearing hats, coloring her hair, collecting pop tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald House, and giving people a “bad time”. She was loved by everyone who knew her.
Sherri was born in Craig, Colorado on February 6, 1971, the daughter of Roger and Bonnie Tranel. During her younger years, Sherri grew up in Savery and Baggs, Wyoming. She graduated from high school in Gillette, Wyoming and moved with her parents to Iowa. She returned to Gillette and was a resident of Pioneer Manor and The Legacy for the past 17 years.
Sherri is survived by her mother, Bonnie, of Gillette, Wyoming; siblings Jeff Tranel (Vanessa) of Pueblo, Colorado, Lori Clikeman (Jim) of Gillette, Jody Wolfe (Stan) of Gillette, and Shawn Tranel of Grand Junction, Colorado; niece Nicole Hewitt-Gaffney (Bob); and nephews Sam and Tyler Clikeman, Jason and Jordan Tranel, and John (Anna) and Alex (Madison) Wolfe. She was preceded in death by her father.
Sherri’s family expresses their deepest thanks to the staff and friends at The Legacy, where the staff was Sherri’s second family and provided much friendship and care. Sherri’s family also extends its appreciation to the Hospice staff.
A visitation will be held at the Legacy Great Room on Friday, June 8, 2018, beginning at 4:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Sherri would love for people attending to wear something purple. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Gillette. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Legacy bingo, Campbell County Health Hospice, John Paul II Catholic School, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716. Condolences may also be expressed at www.gillettememorialchapel.com
