Vickie Lynn (Highness) Rupp, 59, of Gillette, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017, with her beloved husband, daughter and son-in-law by her side. Vickie was so much more than a sister, wife, mother, daughter or friend. She was an example of a Godly woman, a source of wisdom beyond her years and someone who inspired us all. Her very existence on this earth for as many years as we had her is evidence to Gods sustaining love. Every day no matter how much pain she was in, she had a smile to share and a prayer for someone else who was hurting. God handpicked her for a journey that none of us could take her place or even follow. He trusted her enough for this life, and she trusted Him to work out the details of her journey. He cannot trust just anyone with such a ministry. Vickie was born Aug. 7, 1957, in Fargo, North Dakota. She graduated from Dilworth High School in 1975.Vickie was married to Glen Rupp on Aug. 26, 1977. They were married just shy of 40 years. Their only daughter Danielle was born four years later July 17, 1981.Vickie excelled as a domestic engineer, making a wonderful home for her daughter to grow up in, and husband to come home to. There were horses, mules, pigs and even some geese to feed, and her beautiful flower gardens to be kept. In her early years, she was a gymnast, trained horses, and organized the North Dakota regional Special Olympics. Later she was the president and founder of the Montana chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. Throughout her life she found joy in baking, and cooking for family and friends. Vickie is survived by husband, Glen; daughter, Danielle (Russ, step-grandchildren Logan and Emmit); parents, Ken and Arlene; two brothers, Kenny (Jeannie) and Jeff (Shelly); sister, Lisa (David) Bartness; and many beautiful nieces and their children, family and friends. In lieu of flowers, we ask for perennial outdoor plants to be planted in a remembrance garden in Vickies honor. Some of her favorites include day-lilies, columbine, dark purple lilac and iris. Vickies family would like to thank the amazing staff of The Legacy nursing home for the excellent love and care she received in her last year. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716. Condolences may also be expressed at www.gillettememorialchapel.com
