Funeral service for David Norman Sr. will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft, WY with Pastor Monte Reichenberg officiating; interment to follow at Moorcroft Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services at the church. David Lee Norman age 87 passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital. David Lee Norman Sr. was born on August 15, 1929 in Linneus, Missouri to Byron and Amy (Perry) Norman. Dave started working while in high school at the Penney (JC Penney) farm in Missouri. After high school he worked his way west to Casper, Wyoming where he met his wife of 66 years. Dave worked many years for Sinclair Oil Company and the family lived in several oilfield camps including Station 3, Station 7 & Bairoil. In 1967, Dave bid on an oilfield pumping job with Sinclair and the family moved to Moorcroft, WY where he built the family home and all four children graduated from high school. Dave retired as a production foreman with ARCO in 1985 and then went to work for Prenalta. After retiring from Prenalta, Dave and Jane became snowbirds, spending winters in Apache Junction, AZ and returning each summer to Moorcroft. Dave was a proud and active member of Shriners. He was an active member of the Presbyterian Church and a willing handyman for anyone in need. He became an expert silversmith and all his family and neighbors were recipients of his beautiful jewelry. Dave enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. Dave had a great sense of humor and he could not resist teasing family and friends. Dave was loved and will be missed by all. Dave is survived by his wife; Catherine Jane Norman of Moorcroft, WY, children; David Lee (Marilyn) Norman Jr. of Cheyenne, WY, Stephen Mark (Terri) Norman of Sparks, NV, John Howard (Krista) Norman of Phoenix, AZ, and Mary Catherine Corley of Jefferson City, MO, brother; Darrell Norman of Fernley, NV, along with 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
