A funeral service for Dale Osborn will be held 2:00 p.m. April 4, 2017 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ernie Bishop of Church of Christ officiating. Dale Vernon Osborn passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in the company of close friends. Dale was born in Gillette, Wyoming on March 20, 1933 to Glen and Olive (Lee) Osborn. He attended Gillette schools and after graduating high school, he joined the Army and served during the Korean War, eventually receiving an honorable discharge. When he returned home to Gillette he helped his father run the family ranching business. Dale married in 1970 and had 2 children before his divorce. He worked as a security guard at Black Thunder Coal Mine for years along with running the ranch. He was very social and loved to talk about history and politics. He was also a hunter and had several groups of hunters who came to the ranch every year. Dale was also a long time member of the NRA. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his son: James Dale (Jesse Taylor) Osborn of Laramie, WY; and daughter: Susan Ruth (Mark)Gerritsen of Doetinchem in the Netherlands; and by his grandchildren: Ella and Alex Gerritsen and Nessa Taylor, as well as by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings; Harvey Clinton Osborn and Dorcas Ruth Osborn-King. The family request that memorials be made in Dale's name to benefit the American Heart Association.
