Richard 'Rick' Case

Funeral services for Richard Case will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2017 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Pastor Paul Bodin officiating. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Richard "Rick" Case was born on July 19, 1944 in Helena, Montana. He was adopted by Ralph and Doris Case from Basin, Wyoming. He grew up in Basin and graduated from Basin High School in 1962. He attended Eastern Montana College on a football scholarship; majoring in Music Education. Rick served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1966 to 1972. He also earned a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling and an EDS in School Administration from the University of Nebraska. He coached football and girls basketball and was a school principal in Wheatland, Greybull and Gillette, Wyoming. He retired in 2004. Rick was also an avid golfer and enjoyed racing horses in endurance races. Rick is survived by Kathy Case, stepdaughter Katie Frazier, stepson Kyle Avery, both of Gillette, WY, stepdaughter Jenny Williams of Laramie, Wyoming, daughter Rebecca Gustovich, grandchildren Alexia, Raina, Brennan and Drew, and great-grandson Jacob. He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Doris Case. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made in Rick's name to Westwood Library.
