Mass of Christian Burial for Jerome Kutzer will take place at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, March 16, 2017 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Jason Marco officiating. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Oregon Trail Veteran's Cemetery in Evansville, WY. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 with Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Jerome Charles Kutzer was called home to his Lord on March 13, 2017. He was born August 26, 1931 to Herbert and Florence Kutzer in Breckenridge, MN. He was raised on the family farm in Fairmount, ND and honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-1954. He married Janis Marie Gibson on February 4, 1956 and she remained the love of his life over 61 years of marriage. They raised 9 children together in Minnesota and Glenrock, WY before he retired in Gillette where he attended daily mass and Eucharistic Adoration at St. Matthew's Church, and was active in Knights of Columbus. In 1997-1998 Jerome was awarded the Knights of Columbus Family of the Year Award. He enjoyed his daily coffee hour at Burger King, free pie day at Village Inn, cheating at cards, and his friends at the Senior Center. Most of all, Jerome loved family gatherings. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 8 children; Nancy (Gary Israelson), Allan (Phyllis), Marylin (Ken Aune), Sharon (Larry Byer), Karlene (Glenn Nelson) Angie (Melvin Rothleutner), Dave (Marci), Mike, and son-in-law Denny Anderson and his brothers Gene (Helen), Ken (Joan), sister Diane (Leo Ennen), 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Carol Anderson. Jerome's favorite color was blue; you are encouraged to wear blue to his service in his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Campbell County Soup Kitchen, Campbell County Senior Center, or the charity of your choice.
