Memorial Service for Howard Sylvester will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Howard A. Sylvester, 58, of Gillette, WY, passed away February 5, 2017 at his home. Howard was born April 7, 1958 in Gillette, WY to Gary and Mildred (Bundy) Sylvester and grew up in the Gillette and Campbell County area. In his youth, Howard enjoyed participating in rodeo events. He graduated from Campbell County High School in 1976. In 1978, Howard married Kelly Langley and they had two daughters, Fawna and Tiffany.Howard spent most of his adult life working various positions in the oil and gas industry; from working early in his career as a roustabout, to his most recent position as an inside salesman for Toolpushers Supply, where he had worked for the last 24 years. Howard spent most of his free time enjoying outdoor activities. He was a member of the Gillette Gun Club and enjoyed trap shooting. Howard also had a passion for spending time in the mountains camping, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle in the summer and riding snowmobiles in the winter. Some of his other activities included golfing, playing softball and volleyball, cooking crawfish for the annual crawfish boil, and participating in the annual charity chili cookoffs. Howard also had a love for dogs. Surviving are his two daughters, Tiffany Sylvester of Gillette, and Fawna (Joe) Bartow of Gillette; four grandchildren, Taylor, Daiton, Caydenn, and Brynn Bartow; his mother, Mildred Huravitch of Gillette; one sister, Tammy Brown of Gillette; and one brother, Rick (Charlotte) Sylvester of Mesa, AZ. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and several nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his father, Gary; paternal grandparents, Al and Ruth Sylvester; and maternal grandparents, Howard and Margaret Bundy. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to benefit either The Fur Kids Foundation or BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse).
