Funeral services for Travis Blake will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dan Holden officiating; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will take place Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Travis Blake age 52 passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Travis Gene Blake was born on June 30, 1964, the son of Orvie Blake and Julia Purcell in Farmington, NM. In 1976 his family moved to Gillette, WY, where he finished his schooling. He graduated from Campbell County High School in 1982. Travis began his oilfield career in 1980 with Jim's Water Service, sweeping floors and cleaning the shop. He then went on to get his CDL and became a winch truck driver to further his career. He worked for Jim's Water Service until 2002, when he became employed by Cyclone Drilling until the time of his death. He also worked briefly for other drilling companies, including Exeter Drilling. Travis met Donna Reynolds in 1985 and they fell in love. They later married in August of 1992. Together they raised three children; Paul, Amanda, and Walter. Travis loved his time with his family and his biggest pride with his grandkids. He loved to watch any old western movies and listen to old time music. Some of Travis' favorite memories were made with his oilfield family as well. Travis truly lived and breathed the oilfield life. He will be remembered for his witty and outspoken sense of humor, and will be dearly missed. Travis is survived by his ex-wife; Donna Blake, his sons; Paul (Kristina) Reynolds of Gillette, WY, and Walter Blake of Gillette, WY, daughter; Amanda Russell of Gillette, WY, brother; James (Denise) Blake of Longmont, CO, sisters; Marianne (Tom) Onashak of Hazelton, PA, and Kathleen Simons of Frackdell, PA, five grandchildren; Taylor and Tyler Reynolds, Camron and Jada Blake, and Acelynn Russell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his oilfield family. He is preceded in death by his grandson; Braxton Bailey, his parents, step-mom; Leota Blake, brother; Troop F. Blake, and sister; April Monroe.
