Graveside services for Donald Brown Sr. will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD. A visitation will be held from 2:00p.m. 5:00pm, Monday, November 7, 2016 at Walker Funeral Home, Gillette, WY Donald Brown Sr., age 72, of Gillette, WY died at his home on Thursday, November 3, 2016. Donald Clifton Brown Sr. was born May 19, 1944 in Gardena, CA, the son of Gillespie Arthur and Margaret Lois (Smallwood) Brown. Don grew up surfing and living the typical California life style. He graduated from Gardena High School and then enlisted in the United States Air Force. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force; Don met his loving wife Dayann Marie Nord in South Dakota. They married after only three weeks of meeting and were together for thirty- three years until Dayann passed away in 1999.Don and Dayann moved their family to Gillette in1978 and enjoyed living here but they eventually felt it necessary to move back to Southern California where Don was a funeral director for many years. They moved back to Gillette in1992 and enjoyed living a country life style with lots of fishing, hunting and camping. Above all Don's pride and joy were his children and grandchildren.Don is survived by his sons: Donald (Patti) Brown Jr., Dean A. Brown both of Gillette Wyoming; daughters: Dedra A. Ladd of Billings, MT; Danielle M. Tidwell of Spokane, WA; as well as by seven grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife Dayann M. Brown, brother Clifton D.
