Steven D Jewett

Steven D Jewett, age 63, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on October 8th, 2016 due to a massive heart attack. "Jewett" was born in Ely, NV on January 27th, 1953 to Roy and Lorene Jewett. On February 7th, 1972 he married Jody (Braden), the long legged love of his life. From that union came a daughter Stephanie, a son Rick and their youngest daughter Melissa. He was a mechanic by trade which eventually lead him to Moorcroft, WY. He worked in mining for several years, finally settling on a life that he loved of helping everyone in the ranching community and working on projects in his garage. One of his greatest joys were his grandchildren, Alecs (Pete), Carissa (Freckles), Cameron (Rambo) and Taylar (Mable). He was lovingly known to everyone as Papa Jewett. He was always willing to take in family or lend a helping hand. He took great pleasure in hunting with his "son" Danny. One of his favorite past times was working on or talking about cars. He was always first to lend his advice, whether is was solicited or not. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his son. He is survived by his wife Jody Jewett, his daughter Stephanie (Casey Hise) Jewett, daughter Melissa (Brian) Hopkins, his son Danny (Camille) Braden and his grandchildren. Services will be on Thursday, October 13th, 2016 at 11am at the old elementary school in Moorcroft, WY, a celebration of life will follow at 1pm at Deweys in Moorcroft, WY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pinnacle Bank in Moorcroft, WY under the name of Steve Jewett Memorial. Donations will be used to cover funeral costs and the remainder will be donated to MS research.
