Shirley Jean Mittlieder

Funeral services for Shirley Jean Mittlieder will be at 11:00 am, Friday, October 14, 2016 at High Plains Community Church with Dan Morgan officiating; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Mittlieder died Friday, October 7, 2016 at Close to Home Hospice from complications from a stroke. She was 79. She was born on November 15, 1936 on a farm in Gopher, South Dakota to Harvey and Eve (Rose) Hill. She married Clarence Alvin (Sonny) Mittlieder on Jan 3, 1956, in Omaha, Nebraska. They had five children. She lived in Omaha for 22 years and moved to Gillette in 1978. She enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, cooking, playing cribbage and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her son; Scottie Allan Mittlieder of Gillette, daughter; Tracie Ann Juby (Curt) of Gillette; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, brother; Ted Hill, sisters; Honey Hayner, Dolly Rudi, Rachel Rosenau, and Dorthy Hawk. She was preceded in death by sons; Todd Aaron Mittlieder and Leslie Ray "Joe" Mittlieder, her husband; Clarence A. Mittlieder and daughter; Sandra May Sorensen. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Campbell County Healthcare Foundation's Close to Home - Hospice Hospitality House in Shirley's name.
