In 1980, Raymond and family returned to Wyoming where he began working with his father and brother at Cates Electric. After the death of his father and brother, Raymond took over the family business until his retirement in 2014. In December of 1999, he lost his first love of 39 years. After a long struggle with his loss, he was reunited with an old friend and was lucky enough to find love twice. On July 4, 2007, he married Kathleen (Berg) Hill.
