Ruth Ward

Funeral service for Ruth Ward will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dan Holden officiating; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will take place Monday, October 3, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Ruth Elizabeth (Bennor) Ward age 89, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Pioneer Manor. Ruth was born on July 19, 1927 in Gillette, WY to Elsie (Johnson) and Daniel Bennor. She attended and graduated from Campbell County High School. She married and Jack Ward and they had five children together. The family travelled following work in many states. While living in Oregon, Ruth drove log trucks while Jack fell trees. She was also a telephone operator and waitress in Casper, WY and helped her son Daniel with his construction business. Ruth enjoyed crafting a variety of projects, and cooking. Her real love in life was her passion for animals. Ruth is survived by sons; Bill (Irene) Ward, Daniel (Debby) Ward, and Curtis (Sherice) Ward, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, all her siblings, a daughter and a son. The family requests that memorials be made to the local animal shelter in Ruth's name.
