John Vernon Talley

A private family graveside service is planned. Lifelong Rozet, WY resident John Talley 93, died Friday, September 16, 2016 in Gillette, WY at Beehive Homes. John was born to Mae and Dick Talley on December 4, 1922 in Newcastle, WY. He attended and graduated from Rozet Elementary/ High School in 1942. He later served in WWII being honorably discharged in 1952. After coming home he ran the ranch with his mother and worked at numerous neighboring ranches. On December 8, 1966 he married Eileen Gauthier. Eileen brought two children to the marriage; Gail and Mike. The following year Kay joined the family. Ranching was what he loved; riding horses up until he was 90. Being able to build his herd up was one of his biggest accomplishments. He took pride in checking his cows daily until he sold the ranch in March of 2016, he then moved to Beehive Homes. John is survived by Kay (Gayle) Nannemann, Gail (Sam) Pilcher, Mike (Deanna) Gauthier, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, niece; Kay Perry and nephew; Carl Bechtold.
