Funeral Services for Leonard L. "Swede" Wilson will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2016 at Walker Funeral Home. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Highland Cemetery in Casper, WY. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday September 22, 2016 at Walker Funeral Home. Leonard L. "Swede" Wilson, age 77, formerly of Gillette, WY, died Friday, September 16, 2016 in Scottsdale, AZ.Swede was born June 6, 1939 in Powell, WY to Caroline and Hank Wilson. He grew up in the oilfields of Wyoming and lived in various places throughout Wyoming. He graduated from Cody High School in 1958.Swede married Connie Potts in Casper on April 22, 1961, and together they had three children Bill, Lindy and Mike. In 1980, Connie and Swede started their business C&S Oil Tools in Gillette, WY where he worked as the President and Chief Executive Officer until he retired and moved to Casper in 2008.Swede was an active community member during his years in Gillette. He was a member of the Masonic Temple and the Kalif Shriners. In his younger days, he could be seen driving his little Shriner car in all the parades. He participated in charitable events including the annual Chili Cookoff where his chili won awards and trophies. He was a generous sports supporter and sponsored numerous local youth teams.Swede was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, and sighting in his guns. He was an excellent marksman and won many awards while shooting competition skeet. He loved all things outdoors including being on the rigs in the oilfields.He is survived by his children Bill (Michelle) Wilson of Gillette, Lindy (Gary) Sorenson of Gillette, and Mike (Kim) Wilson of Cody; his sister, Zelda McEachron of Billings, MT; his grandchildren, Alyssa Sorenson, Mike Wilson, Devin Sorenson, Nick Wilson, Alex Wilson, "B" Wilson, Abby Wilson, Brady Wilson, and Noah Wilson and one great granddaughter. Swede was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Connie, his brother Henry, and his sister Jackie Coffman.A memorial has been established to benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children and to benefit Alzheimer's research.
