A celebration of life for Joseph D. Webster will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Gillette Memorial Chapel with internment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2016 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Joseph David Webster, Sr., of Gillette Wyoming passed away quietly in his sleep on July 5, 2016 at his home just four days short of his 97th birthday. Joseph David Webster was born July 9, 1919 in Piniele, Montana to Joshua David Webster and Rose Ellen (Worley) Webster. He attended school in Carter County Montana; officially graduating from the 8th grade in the year 1933. Born and raised in the Ekalaka area of Montana, the family homestead started out as a true dug-out home. Joe worked in and around the early oilfield throughout the surrounding counties. Joe worked for road and bridge department, hauled water for many years and spent some of his later years working for Jim's Water Service. Joe always displayed a fiercely independent life. All who knew him recognized his quick mind and sharp observations. Joe met and married his life partner and soul mate Peggy Ann Malley in 1975. Joe and Peggy Ann and her children moved to Gillette in 1975, where the family has made their home ever since. Joe is survived by his two sisters Gertie Fruit, 92 of Mile City, MT, and Rose Russel, 89 of Toledo, OH. Also his sons: Joseph David Webster Jr., of Gillette, WY, and Arthur Webster of Portland, WA; his daughters: Emmaline (Billy) Sargent of Gillette, WY, and Sharon (Lester) Smith and Marlene (David) Smith of Belle Fourche, SD; step-children Johnna (WJE) Hart of Big Horn, WY, Mitchell Batinovich of Reno, NV: seven grandkids and thirteen great grandkids. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Ann Webster, and his parents. The family requests that memorials be made to The Senior Center "Meals on Wheels" program.
