Services for Lisa Wandler Hamilton will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday July 1, 2016 at Family Life Church with Chaplain Donny Edwards officiating. A public visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Lisa Ruth Surat was born October 12, 1968 in Pomona, CA - the first of four children born to Wayne, Sr. and Pat (Horton) Surat. She attended LaRoche country school at Academy, SD and graduated from Platte High School and Mitchell Vocational Technical Institute. She was united in marriage to Kory Standy in 1984. A dear daughter, Ashley Erin, was born in April, 1985. Lisa worked at Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD for several years prior to moving to Gillette, WY where she was employed at both Amax and Powder River Coal Companies in the accounting departments. She married Mike Wandler of Gillette, WY in 1997. She became a certified massage therapist and maintained an office at Lakeway Professional Center until the time of her death. She began working for the City of Gillette in 2004, where she met the love of her life, Dustin Hamilton. They shared 10 beautiful years together, and were married on March 24, 2015 in Ft. Collins, CO.Lisa became involved with her Limu business in 2015 which afforded her the opportunity to meet many new friends and help others. She and Dustin traveled extensively and enjoyed attending Rush ice hockey games with family in Rapid City. Lisa and Dustin rarely left each other's side. Her daughter and granddaughter were her life. Lisa enjoyed spending time with her favorite "kids" Alexis, Zachary and Kole; and she was their world. Throughout her life, Lisa maintained a very close bond with her parents, sisters Alana and Christi and her brother, Wayne, Jr. She has touched so many lives - too numerous to count; one minute spent with Lisa, and you were drawn to her. She was a woman of truly uncommon character, strength and faith. Her infectious smile and loving soul will live through all those she touched. She will remain indelibly etched in our hearts. Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Dustin of Gillette, WY; daughter, Ashley Paulsen (Aaron) of Milliken, CO; granddaughter Alexis ReAnn Stephens of Milliken, CO; step-grandson Evan Paulsen of Gilbert, AZ; parents Wayne and Pat Surat of Bijou Hills, SD; sisters Alana Johnson (Mike) and nephew Zachary of Gillette, WY; Christi Surat and fianc Kelly Winterholler and nephew Kole of Gillette, WY; brother Wayne A. Surat, Jr. of Sioux Falls, SD; paternal grandmother, Ruth Surat of Platte, SD; mother and father-in-law Melody and Doug Hamilton, of Rapid City, SD; sister-in-law Sara (Garrett) Rembold and nephew Hudson of Rapid City, SD. Lisa was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather.In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Lisa's name.
