A graveside service for Linda G. Wagner will be held on Monday, June 6th at 1 p.m. at the Upton Cemetery. Linda Wagner, age 62, of Gillette, WY passed away at Close to Home Hospice on June 1, 2016 from complications due to cancer. The world became a happier place on June 23, 1953, when Linda Gail Wagner (Schiller) was born in Sundance, Wyoming. Linda's parents were Harvey and Elizabeth Schiller and she grew up in Upton, Wyoming. After high school she lived in either Wyoming or Montana, though Upton was always home to her. Linda lived with infectious joy even after surviving family tragedies. She found the will to allow grief to further cultivate her main passions her family and caring for children. Linda touched the lives of many through never-ending kindness, support, and her wonderful sense of humor. She had the ability to always see the silver lining, at times brought to light for others by her quick wit. And oh how Linda loved adventure. She was always up for a trip with family or friends, which invariably included a stop at each and every antique shop along the way, including a few out of the way. Linda was lightning-fast at spotting a treasure.Family was everything to Linda. She was the glue that held the family together through good times and not-so-good times. She cherished her time with her dear sisters and brothers. When she wasn't spending time with family or putting her keen business sense to use by running a shop, Linda spent hours quilting. She was never too busy to make another quilt or blanket for a treasured grandchild or friend.Linda's primary passion was caring for children. When she was quite young she became the foster parent for three children, whom she considered her kids for life though she had three biological children. Later she spent several years working with Make-a-Wish and serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Children. The last few years, Linda lived in Gillette with her loving and devoted husband of fourteen years, Kevin. Just over a year ago she was diagnosed with cancer, which she fought courageously. Unknowingly, Linda imparted lessons of gratitude and grace to her many care givers, family, and friends. On Wednesday, June 1st, not long before her passing a beautiful, brightly colored butterfly flitted nearby in golden sunshine, perhaps beckoning her to a place of peace. Linda now watches over her many loved ones, who will always carry her memory in their hearts and be left smiling when thinking of her. Thank you Linda. You were loved completely by so many.Linda is survived by her husband, Kevin Wagner, of Gillette, Wyoming; her son Eric Spangler of Dickinson, North Dakota; her daughter Tressy Spangler, Franklin, Kentucky; her three foster children Charma Anderson of Olympia, Washington; Wendy Klaasen of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Doug Ness of Missouri. She is also survived by her sister Audrey Schaeffer of Gillette, Wyoming; Caroline Critelli of Red Lodge, Montana; and her brother Jeff (Patty) Schiller, of Upton, Wyoming; sister-in-laws, Eileen Schiller and Yng Sun Schiller. Linda has three biological grandchildren and nine through her foster children.
