Funeral Service for Gordon L. Outzen will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Walker Funeral Home with Minister Ernie Bishop from Church of Christ officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton, WY with Pastor Ed Murray of the Riverton Church of Christ officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Walker Funeral Home.Mr. Outzen died Friday April 1, 2016 at the Pioneer Manor in Gillette after a battle with Parkinson's disease and a stroke.Gordon was born July 2, 1930 in Riverton, WY to Charles and Flossie (Hillis) Outzen. He was raised in Riverton and graduated from Riverton High School in 1948. After graduation, he was drafted into the army and was stationed in Alaska during the Korean War. He married Adele Berry on Sept 21, 1958 in Riverton. In 1968, they moved to Gillette where he most notably worked as a loan officer for Stockman's Bank. He actively supported and rooted on his favorite sports teams; the Camels, Wyoming Cowboys and all teams from Denver. Gordon's incredible love for his family was only matched by his love of the Lord where he was a member of the Church of Christ in Gillette. He is survived by two sons, Brian and Neil, both of Gillette; a daughter, Sue Ann (Mark) Minor of Kennewick WA; nine grandchildren; and numerous close family members.He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to benefit the Mountain States Children's Home.
