Memorial service for Annie Hudson will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft, Wyoming. Annie Isabelle Driskell Hudson, age 89 and long-time resident of Weston County died Friday, March 25, 2016 Weston County Manor Nursing Home in Newcastle, Wyoming. Born on January 21, 1927 in Weston County, Annie attended Upton High School and graduated in 1944. After attending classes through Black Hills Teachers College (now Black Hills State University) in Spearfish, South Dakota, Annie received her Teacher's Certificate in the summer of 1944 from the State of Wyoming and taught in a one-room school house near her home. Annie met Eugene Hudson while visiting Rapid City, South Dakota and they were married on January 3, 1945 in Rapid City. She lived in Weston County her entire life with the exception of five years spent in Kankakee, IL (1948-1952). After returning from Illinois, Annie and Gene lived and worked on her family's ranch tending the garden and ranch animals. Annie enjoyed working in her greenhouse, her plants both in and outside the home, and visiting with friends and family in the area. One of Annie's greatest joys in life was spending time with children. All of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors can attest to the lengths she would go to make them feel special. Annie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft, Wyoming, and taught both Bible Study and Sunday school. She was active in 4-H, the Mother's Afternoon Club, and the Farmers Union. Annie is survived by her five children: Dennis (Carole) of Piedmont, South Dakota; Martin of Olympia, Washington; Wayne (Janine) of Douglas, Wyoming; Sherry (Brady) Holm of Clinton, Utah; and, Noel (Valeri) of Casper, Wyoming. She also has one granddaughter, nine grandsons, eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Minnie Driskell, her sisters; Ruth Cordingly and Wanda Nolan, her brother; Walter Driskell, and her husband; Eugene Hudson.
