Wanda Smebakken

Graveside services for Wanda Smebakken, 62 of Aurora, CO, will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, WY. Daughter and sister of Gillette residence Albert, Wayne and Jim Smebakken. Wanda passed away on March 5, 2016 at her home of natural causes. Wanda Smebakken was born to Albert and Katherine Smebakken on October 31, 1953 in Lemmon, SD. She attended rural elementary schools in Western South Dakota and graduated from Lemmon High School in 1971. She went on to attend college at SDSU in Brookings, SD. She was an active member of the Rifle Club in college and lettered. She graduated from college in 1975. After college she worked for the South Dakota Housing Authority in Pierre, SD for a few years. She then moved to Denver, CO where she worked for Citicorp Bank and also other various accounting jobs. Wanda was a devoted to her one son; Ted Smebakken. She is survived by her father; Albert Smebakken of Gillette, WY, son; Ted Smebakken, brothers; Wayne and Jim Smebakken of Gillette, WY, sister; Bonnie Carol of Teton, ID, along with nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her mother; Katherine and brother; Jerry.
