The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to Gillette Memorial Chapel. Sheldon Perkins, 18, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at home in Gillette. As a young boy, Sheldon enjoyed being an Indian, and telling everyone he was born in Indiana. Sheldon's bow and arrow and Tomahawk were important to him. He took them everywhere. When Sheldon was eight he went on a camping trip with his dad. That was a special time for him. On this trip he encountered a snake for the first timea bull snake. Sheldon's dad relayed the story as this: Sheldon froze, turned around, and he didn't think Sheldon touched the ground on the way back to camp. Also during that trip Sheldon went fishing on a boat. He caught several fish, and when it came time to eat them found they had only tortillas and peanut butter as condiments. From that point on, Sheldon enjoyed having peanut butter with his fish. Sheldon, like everybody, changed his desires and likes and loves as he grew older. He went from being an Indian from Indiana, to being in camouflage, owning camouflage, everything has to be camouflaged (at times we couldn't even find Sheldon from all the camouflage), to his latest and greatest love which was being a cowboy. From the age of fifteen Shelden dreamed of working on a ranch and owning a ranch. He had one particular horse that he grew to love more than anything and the horse's name was Cowboy. Family dinner time was important to Sheldon. He enjoyed talking and listening about the events of each day that he and everyone else experienced. Sheldon was fantastic with little people. He would often play kick the can with children, take them to the park, on four wheelers, and leading them around on a pony. Sheldon is survived by his dad Jim and mom Sharon Perkins of Lusk, Wyoming, sisters Maranda Ryan, of Springfield, Massachusetts, Monica (Steven) Lijewski of Gillette, Wyoming, Jamie Perkins of Lusk, Wyoming, Kristyl (Ben) Linker of Gillette, Wyoming, Kasi Hartsoch of Gillette, Wyoming, brothers Tanner Ryan of Springfield, Massachusetts, Glen Perkins of Lusk, Wyoming, along with numerous nieces and nephews and his foster family Will, Marissa, Marilee Deagan of Gillette, Wyoming. Sheldon was loved by all who met him. His smile was contagious and his heart enormous. Sheldon will be missed deeply by everyone. We all love you to the "Moon and back."
