Mary Murr

Mary Margaret Corzine Murr, age 90, passed away at Close to Home Hospice in Gillette, Wyoming surrounded by her family on February 10, 2016 after a short bout with cancer. She was born on February 21, 1925 in Clarence, Missouri to Charles and Virginia (Sherman) Mitchell.She was married on July 5, 1942 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to John Corzine who preceded her in death on July 27, 1980. They moved extensively while working in the oil & gas industry including a short stint in Germany. They had five children - Margaret Laverne, John Wilbert, and Marilyn Sue who all preceded her in death and David Earl Corzine (Denver) and Belinda Ann Hays (Gillette). Mary had six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She also leaves behind three siblings Charles, Jackie and Joanne.She later married Thomas (Tommie) Murr on June 23, 1983 who preceded her in death on January 16, 2015. Tommie had a son and daughter who gave them four grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.Mary spent her life taking care of her family and numerous foster children. She was well known for her cinnamon rolls and muffins that she would whip together at the drop of a hat. Traveling was her passion and she visited all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, most of Central America as well as several countries in Europe. She also loved family camping trips and holiday gatherings and was a voracious reader. She enjoyed her final year in the Primrose Senior Living Center making several new friends and spotting wildlife around Gillette. At the center she enjoyed playing dominoes, scrabble and dice games, and socializing with friends and family, as well as frequent outings.Services to celebrate her life will be held later in the year with burial to take place in Casper, WY.
