Memorial services for Dorothy Liggett will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Moose Lodge in Gillette, WY with Mike Morrison officiating, with a fellowship to follow. Dorothy Liggett passed away on January 31, 2016 at Pioneer Manor from natural causes. Dorothy (Spainer) Liggett was born on February 2, 1928 in Ellinwood, KS to Charles and Marie (Miller) Spainer. Dorothy attended school in Ellinwood and graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1946. Dorothy married Harold Walcher on November 25, 1948 in Ellinwood, KS and from this union the couple had three daughters; Connie Garner, Linda Noyes and Deb Jacobs. During this time the family moved numerous times while Harold worked in the oilfield industry. The family moved to Gillette in 1970, where they remained. Harold passed away in April of 1981. Dorothy worked at Campbell County School District and Campbell County Memorial Hospital as a custodian until retirement. Dorothy married Robert Liggett on December 28, 1989. The couple enjoyed travelling, playing darts, horseshoes and golfing. Dorothy was a member of Moose Lodge and also American Legion Auxiliary. Dorothy is survived by her husband; Robert Liggett, daughters; Connie Garner of Grand Junction, CO, and Deb Jacobs of Gillette, WY, step-daughters; Gail Japp and Sherry Morrison both of Gillette, WY, step-son; Lance Liggett of Ahwatukee, AZ, sister; Barbara Tindall of Hoisington, KS, along with 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband; Harold Walcher, daughter; Linda Noyes, parents; Charles and Marie Spainer, and brothers; Charles Spainer, Marlin Spainer, Donald Spainer, and Richard Spainer. Family requests that memorials be made in Dorothy's name to Moose Lodge and Close to Home Hospice House.
