Alberta Jane Welton

Memorial services for Alberta Welton will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 5, 2016 at Platte Valley Christian Center in Saratoga, Wyoming with Pastor Gene Smith officiating. Alberta (Marvin) Welton 87 passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Pioneer Manor in Gillette, WY. Alberta was born July 2, 1928 in Rawlins, WY to Ernie and Irene Marvin. After graduating from Rawlins High School, she worked as a telephone operator. Alberta married Ernest Welton in June of 1947. They had three children. They raised their family on the Ravenscroft Ranch on Pass Creek. They moved into Saratoga in 1971. Alberta worked for the Saratoga Sun for a while. She opened and operated a pet shop in Saratoga and then was a pet groomer for 27 years. Alberta was very active in the church and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter; Heather. Alberta is survived by one son; Ernest M. Welton of Lincoln, NE, daughter and son-in-law; Charlotte and Ernie Sandy of Gillette, WY, granddaughters; Heather Anglin of Greeley, CO and Kathleen Lilly of Eugene, OR, five great-grandchildren, two sisters; Mr. and Mrs. Warren (Betty) Fuller of Lander, WY and Doris Scott of Thermopolis, WY, also numerous nieces and nephews.
