A gathering to remember the life of Nick Haney Sr. will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. This will be an informal remembrance, celebrating his life. Please dress casually and be prepared to share your stories. Nicholas Rodger Haney Sr. passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at his home of a heart attack. Nick was born on November 22, 1962 to Sandra and Donnie Haney in Long Beach, CA. The family moved to Gillette in 1977 and called it home. Nick attended school in Campbell County and graduated from CCHS in 1980. He went on to attend college at Northwest College and also University of Wyoming. Nick worked for Black Thunder Mine from 1984 to the time of this death. He had mastered all the equipment and operations; including upgrading to a Supervisor position. What he most enjoyed most was being a shovel operator. Nick started riding motorcycles at the age of 3 and never stopped. He loved going to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally every year, and had be attending since 1980. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. He enjoyed collecting unique items and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Nick was also very involved in any kind of benefit motorcycle ride. Nick is survived by his parents; Don and Sandie Haney of Gillette, WY, son; Nicholas (Mister) Haney Jr. of Powell, WY, daughter; Nicole (John) Pueringer of Gillette, WY, fianc; Pamela (Nussbaum) Mills of Gillette, WY, grandmother; Dorothy Grivas of Tucsan, AZ and 2 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Nicholas P. Grivas, Ruben Haney and Dorothy Haney. The family requests that memorials be made in Nick's name to the local A.B.A.T.E chapter.
