Funeral service for Thelma Lee Dillon will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Thelma "Lee" (Polk) Dillon passed away peacefully at Pioneer Manor on December 24, 2015. Family is comforted to know that she had the best Christmas ever in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lee was born March 5, 1923 in White County, Arkansas to Robert James and Florence (Sparrow) Polk. She was raised in Arkansas and resided in Nebraska, Colorado and Wyoming. May 21, 1979 she married Leon Dillon and moved to his ranch north of Upton, WY. Lee had two daughters, Carolyn Hendricks and Beth Rankin. Leon had one son, Morece Dillon. Lee loved life on the ranch, gardening, cooking and their summer fishing in Alaska and Canada. After being widowed, Lee remained at the ranch and was taken under the loving care of Steve and Janice Langer who "adopted" her into their family. She was active in the Skull Creek Cowboy Church. She accompanied Janice Langer on weekly visits to Newcastle Nursing Home to entertain and visit residents. Lee is survived by her daughters; Carolyn (Tracy) Hendricks, and Beth Rankin, her step-son; Morece (Ivy) Dillon, grandchildren; Stacy (Rich) Slater, Rodney Hendricks, Chris Rankin, Casin (Savannah) Rankin, Marsha (Loren) Barritt, and Jill (Clint) Langer. She has nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lee is preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Florence Polk, husbands; Charles Lopatka and Leon Dillon, two brothers; James and Ellis Polk, son-in-law; Bimbo Rankin, two grandsons; Scott and Shawn Hendricks.
