Funeral services for Jody "Toad" L. Fischer will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Family Life Church with Pastor Marty Crump officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Jody Leonard Fischer, 49, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on December 12, 2015. He was born on August 1, 1966 in McLaughlin, SD. He moved to Gillette when he was 12 where he has remained ever since, except while away to college at Taft University and University of Nebraska. He graduated from Campbell County High School in 1984. He was a cross country champion both in high school and at college. Athletics were his life. He was married to Dawn Strohschein with whom he had 3 amazing and wonderful children Dani, Demi, and Jordan Fischer. He mentored and coached his children throughout their lives in many sports, school, life choices, and most importantly of all his faith in Jesus. He loved his children with all his might. He was their dad, coach, mentor, and their rock. He gave them unconditional love and support along with his love of Jesus. He did the same with his nieces and nephews whom he loved as additional children. Jody shared his love of Jesus with everyone he came in contact with and was an encourager of all.He married Tammy (Hermstad) Fischer on June 5, 2014. He loved her and her son, AJ Hermstad who he accepted as his own. He enjoyed golfing with the boys, riding his Harley, hiking, camping, and family get togethers.He is survived by his wife, Tammy; his parents, Betty and Charles Fischer, his four children; Dani Fischer, Demi (Fischer) Kingery, Jordan Fischer, and AJ Hermstad, a beautiful granddaughter; Brynlee Kingery, brothers; Kerry (Julie) Fischer, Gerald (Mony) Fischer, sister; Shari Henaghan; as well as six nephews and five nieces whom he loved dearly.Memorials and condolences maybe sent in Jody's name in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716.
