A celebration of the life of Debra Sneathen will be held Monday, November 23, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. in Equality Hall, Wyoming Center at Cam-plex. Deb went to be with her Savior on Thursday, November 19, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. Deb was born July 21, 1953 to Robert and Annie Confer in Lock Haven, PA. She grew up in Howard, PA and graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School. She was active in band and choir, and was a member of the Younger Americans, a traveling choral group that sang at gatherings around the area; all the way to Atlantic City where they opened for Gary Lewis. Deb started college at Slippery Rock State College but transferred back to Penn State where she graduated in 1975. She was a huge Penn State football fan. Deb worked at many different jobs after graduation. A vacation to visit her cousin Cindy Cowan and her husband Charlie in Moorcroft, WY; sealed the deal as she fell in love with Wyoming. She moved to Wyoming in 1978 and lived with them. Deb worked at Stockmen's Bank and First National Bank; it seemed banking was her chosen profession. On a fateful Halloween night in 1978, she met a determined man who would not stop until he got her number at the Old West Tavern. He got her number and he did call her the very next day. They began to date and soon found they were meant to be. On August 17, 1980 Deb and Donnie Sneathen were joined in holy matrimony. The couple moved to Whitewood, SD where Deb worked in Banking while Donnie returned to college. They later moved to Spearfish, SD, where Deb continued her career in Banking, while Donnie completed college. On November 11, 1981 they had their first child; Dustin. They got to take a trip back to Pennsylvania to see family and during the trip back they were caught in a blizzard in Michigan, on January 21, 1982 Dustin passed away, a victim of SIDS. The couple moved to Gillette and Deb worked in Banking and raising their family. Gavin was born on July 25, 1983, Shea was born on June 24, 1986, and Hannah was born on July 5, 1988. Deb retired from Banking in October of 1989 as she began a new page of her life as a library aide at Rawhide Elementary School. In September of 1994 she moved to Stocktrail Elementary as an Office Clerk. She went to her final job as a Curriculum Facilitator Clerk in March 1999, where she worked until her passing. Deb was involved with many activities, but her favorite was being on the Fair Board. She met so many great friends through this opportunity and has so many stories to share. Deb was also a very spiritual person and was active in many church activities; serving on committees, donating time at the Soup Kitchen, and singing in the choir. Her beautiful smile was contagious and she spread it wherever she went. She enjoyed traveling to follow her children in all their activities. Deb also loved her grandchildren; Baylon, Mac, Broden and Taurii.Deb is survived by her husband; Donnie, son; Gavin (Darla) Sneathen, son; Shea Sneathen, daughter; Hannah (Justin) Hillius. She is preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Annie Confer, brother; Michael, and son; Dustin. The family requests that memorials be made in Deb's name to the Campbell County Fair Board.
