Funeral Services for Theo "Ted" Gassin will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 20, 2015 at Gillette Memorial Chapel, Deacon Kim Carroll officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery. Theo R. Gassin, 85, resident of Rozet, Wyoming, passed away after a courageous battle with multiple health issues, November 16, 2015 surrounded by family at Pioneer Manor in Gillette, Wyoming. Ted was born October 1, 1930 in Sheridan, Wyoming to the late Theodore R. Gassin and Ruth E. (Christensen) Gassin. Ted was the youngest of three children. He was raised on the family homestead ranch near Spotted Horse, Wyoming. Ted graduated from Arvada High School. After high school Ted worked on the railroad for a brief time and then as a ranch hand. Ted then started working for various seismic companies. He returned to Gillette in 1955 where he met the love of his life, Nadine (Brennen) of Rozet, Wyoming who was working as a nurse's aide at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital. Nadine and Ted were married on September 14, 1955 at St. Mathews Catholic Church. After driving a truck for Winland Dairy and returning to Seismic work, Ted attended and graduated Barber College in Salt Lake City, Utah. He barbered in Douglas, Wyoming for 17 years, owning and operating Ted's Barber Shop. Ted and Nadine adopted their two daughters, Terri (Ives) and Kathy (Dell). The family later moved to the Moran ranch south of Rozet which they operated and owned at the time of his death. Ted is survived by his wife Nadine; two daughters, Kathy Dell and Terri Ives; 5 grandchildren- Jessica Dell, Heather Schmidt, Shelby Casey, Cassandra and Connor Ives; 1 great-grand child- Annabel Schmidt; 2 nephews Clayton and Doug Rideout and niece Donna Barker, sisters-in-law Dottie Washut and Debbie Norris as well as numerous additional nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and cousins. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; Theodore and Ruth, brother; Charlie Gassin and sister; Julia (Judy) Rideout, brother-in-law; Chas Norris, niece; Tammy Washut, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ted loved to play pitch, poker and cribbage. He touched the lives of many people with his trademark wry sense of humor, quick wit, generosity and strong sense of right and wrong. Ted was a hardworking man who was always making improvements on the ranch. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Hospice or the charity of your choice.
