Shawn also made it a tradition to hit up garage/yard sales in the community with his wife and step-daughters on Saturday mornings to find anything related to tools, hunting, fishing or just a good "score". He also enjoyed the back yard campfires with family and friends. Shawn loved all of his family and extended family and friends. He had several hobbies that always included some sort of adventure or mis-adventure, a memory, a story and always with his wife/daughters, friends, family and folks he would happen to meet and always end up calling a "friend". He helped at Demo Derby's, was on a pool league, enjoyed hunting elk, antelope, deer, grouse, geese, turkey's. He enjoyed his fishing trips with his buddies and step-daughters, or anyone who mentioned a last minute fishing exertions.
