A celebration of life for Doug Overfield will be held 5:30p.m., Friday, August 21 at Moose Lodge with a carry in dinner to follow. The family requests that all who knew Doug join them in this time of remembrance and bring a favorite dish to share. Douglas R. Overfield age 41, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 from a heart attack. Doug was born on September 5, 1973 in Memphis, MO to Helen (Carter) and Wendall Overfield. The family settled in Gillette, WY when Doug was 2 years old. He attended school in Gillette and graduated from CCHS in 1991. Doug was known for being a hardworking man, he owned his own business alongside his father; Silver Dollar Construction. Doug enjoyed running heavy equipment. Doug was a true family-man, spending time with his sons; Ryan, Carter and Raeder. Doug was an avid hunter. He enjoyed baseball especially the St. Louis Cardinals, and he would always find time to play a game of catch with Carter. He also enjoyed playing darts with the love of his life; Jamie and was a member of the National Dart Association and won 4th in the World in Las Vegas. Doug was also a member of the Pony Express. Doug is survived by wife; Jamie, sons; Ryan (Kiara) Overfield, Carter Overfield, and Raeder Overfield, mother; Helen Overfield, and brother; Lee Overfield all of Gillette, WY. He is preceded in death by his father; Wendall Overfield, and his grandparents and great-grandparents. A memorial has been established to benefit Doug's sons; Carter and Raeder's education.
