Mass of Christian Burial for Lonnie J."Bud" Timmer will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 15, 2015 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Cliff Jacobson and Deacon Kim Carroll officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2015 at Walker Funeral Home with a Vigil starting at 6p.m. In Bud's honor the family asks you to please wear Minnesota Vikings jerseys or Vikings colors to the funeral. Lonnie J."Bud" Timmer, age 47, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away August 11, 2015 at his home.Lonnie "Bud" Timmer was born on January 12, 1968 in Sioux Falls, SD. He was first son to Jim & Penny (Schave) Timmer. Bud lived in Sioux Falls with his family until 1977 at the age of nine. They then moved to Gillette where he has resided since. Bud graduated from Campbell County High School in 1986. After graduation, he worked in the oilfield until he began working for his future business partner. He followed his passion of owning and operating his own painting/drywall business. With his skills and big heart, he traveled to Louisiana for almost a year to help clean up the city after Hurricane Katrina. After he returned home, he began working for the Council of Community Services.In 1992, Bud met Susan Elkins and her daughter Tonya "Nana". They married in 1993. They were blessed with their son, Dalton, in 1994. They shared many years together and were later divorced.Bud enjoyed many hobbies including softball, attending Nascar and local races, bowling, golfing, and dancing. He had a love for the Minnesota Vikings and was an avid fan of Nascar racer Jeff Gordon. He had a fulfilled life and was loved by many. Everywhere he went, he was a familiar face. His family and children were the center of his life. All the young kids loved their "Uncle Bud", and they always brought him so much happiness. Bud is survived by his son; Dalton Timmer, daughter; Tonya Bunning, parents; Jim & Penny Timmer, siblings; Lynette (Grover) Frost, Laurie Timmer, Lance (Margaret) Timmer, and Leah (Nathan) Williams; fiance; Lisa Severn, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Bud is preceded in death by his sister Lana and his grandparents.A memorial has been established in Bud's name.
