Raymond E Kaehne

August 6, 2015 — August 6, 2015

Private family services for Raymond Kaehne will be held at a later date. Raymond Eugene Kaehne, age 80, went home to be with his Lord on August 3, 2015. He went peacefully, in the comfort of his daughter's home, with his family members by his side from natural causes. Raymond was born on March 19, 1935 to Leo and Mary (Stumm) Kaehne in Rib Lake, Wisconsin. Raymond first came out to Wyoming in the 60's to antelope hunt. He loved Wyoming so much, that he wanted to make Wyoming his home. Raymond first lived in Casper, WY where he worked for a construction company, building bridges, and the interstate I-90 was being built. He had the wonderful opportunity to build the bridge that enters the family ranch. In 1969, he met the love of his life, Helen Prazma, and they moved to Moorcroft. They married on April 25, 1970. The couple was married for 45 years at the time of Raymond's passing. They had two beautiful daughters, Darlene Richendifer-Troyer and Clarine Knighten. Raymond worked in the oil fields, but his true enjoyment was being able to run and operate the family's ranch. He loved the outdoors and hunting. He enjoyed racing snowmobiles and earned many trophies in the 80's for his racing skills. Raymond always took much pride in everything he did. Raymond also loved law enforcement, so in the early 80's, he began working for the Moorcroft Police Department and was employed for many years. During his time in law enforcement, he became a member of the Crook County Search and Rescue. Later in his career, Raymond became Deputy Sheriff for the Crook County Sheriff Department. Raymond continued to work on the family ranch for the remainder of his life. Raymond is survived by his wife; Helen Prazma-Kaehne, daughters; Darlene (Wilbur) Troyer, Clarine (Hoss) Knighten of Moorcroft, WY, granddaughters; Amanda (Ed) Troyer, Brittany Richendifer, great-grandchildren; Elwyn and Azalee Troyer. Raymond is preceded in heaven by his parents; Leo and Mary Kaehne, brother Lester Kaehne, and son-in-law; Bret Richendifer.
