Hesper Brecht

Graveside Funeral Services for Hesper M. Brecht will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2014 at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Daryl Hibert of Grace Bible Church officiating. Hesper Brecht passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Pioneer Manor, from natural causes. Hesper (Underwood) Brecht was born on January 18, 1921 in Walthill, Nebraska to Ola E. (Dude) Underwood and Efie Iowa Bowman. She attended school until the 8th grade. She married George Vassar and the couple had five children together. Hesper was dedicated to her work and took pride in working for Montgomery Wards in Casper, WY as a stock control clerk and heading her department. Hesper enjoyed cooking, cleaning, traveling and puzzles. Hesper worked all the way to the age of 80 years. Hesper is survived by her son; Donald E. Vassar, daughter; Donna D. Sommer both of Gillette, WY, brothers; Delmar, and Oral, sisters; Nellie and Delorase, along with 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Hesper is preceded in death by her parents, sons; Earl Vassar, Densis Vassar, and George Vassar, and first husband; George W. Vassar.
