Mass of Christian Burial for Deloris Bowker will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday July 28, 2015 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Cliff Jacobson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Walker Funeral Home with a Rosary starting at 6:00p.m. Deloris Gertrude Bowker died Thursday July 23, 2015 at Regional Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota.Deloris was born to Lars and Bertha Skaar in Stanley, North Dakota on February 23, 1931. She graduated from high school in Stanley and from college in Minot, North Dakota. Following graduation, she became an elementary school teacher. Her teaching career was short lived as she soon met Darwin "Bud" Bowker. They were married in 1953, and she became a full time homemaker. That career lives on in the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren she leaves behind. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, music, and gardening. She was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Gillette, Wyoming. Her faith in God, her husband, and her children were the center of her life. Deloris is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bud Bowker, her sons; Jeffery (Ginger) Bowker and Kent (Sharrie) Bowker, her daughters; Janell (Carl) Preston, Darnell (Jack) Handran, Cynthia (John) Leisy and Corrine (Joe) Exley, 14 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Lars Skaar Jr, and four sisters; Dorothy Davis, Shirley McCloskey, Joan Fladeland, and Rosemary Binetti. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Donna Johnson and Carol Thronson. A memorial to benefit John Paul II School has been established in Deloris's name.
