Patrick James Webster

March 24, 1957 — May 24, 2015

Patrick (Web) James Webster passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Close to Home Hospice House in Gillette, Wyoming surrounded by family and friends. Pat was born on March 24, 1957 to Gene and Eileen Webster in Mitchell, South Dakota. He attended Holy Spirit elementary school and graduated from Mitchell high school in 1976. He worked for his dad at Leader Hardware up until the early 80's when he started working for BNSF. He was employed with the railroad for 30 years. Anyone that knew of Pat, knew that he was always ready for the "great debate", and he would spend hours debating world issues with anyone. He enjoyed rock hunting, and tinkering with his cars. He was known to patronize The Other Side Bar, Center Bar and the Monkey up until his illness. Pat was an easy going person, and great friend to all he knew. His family meant the world to him, and even though he traveled for his job, he always managed to get home to see his family whenever he could. Pat's positive energy and spirit even after he was diagnosed with cancer always kept him hopeful and he gave everything he had to beat his illness all the way to the end. He fought a courageous battle and inspired us all. Pat is survived by his mother; Eileen Webster of Mitchell, SD, sisters; Janye (Bill) Rubendall of Mitchell, SD, Kathy (Tom) Cooley of Austin, TX, Susan (Larry) Welch of Atlanta, TX, brothers; Terry (Becky) Webster of Inman, KS, Philip (Jackie) Webster of Lincoln, NE, and Tom Webster of Mitchell, SD. Along with his lifelong friend Doug Discus of Gillette, WY and special friend Lana Plato of Gillette, WY. He is preceded in death by his father; Gene Webster, sister; Michelle Franey and both sets of grandparents. Cremation has taken place with burial of his ashes to be held in Gillette at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery at a later date, along with a mass funeral to be held in Mitchell, SD at a later date.
