Peter Wayne Jodozi

Mass of Christian Burial for Peter "Pete" Jodozi will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Matthews Catholic Church with Father Cliff Jacobson and Deacon Kim Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2015 with a Vigil starting at 6:00p.m. at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Peter "Pete" Wayne Jodozi, age 78, of Gillette Wyoming passed away on Tuesday May 19, 2015. He was born on May 27, 1936 in Oldham, South Dakota to Peter and Ann (Pechenpaugh) Jodozi. Pete was raised and educated in South Dakota. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1959. Semper Fi. Pete then met Sharon (LaFave) and in December of 1959 they were married. They traveled for many years with the construction industry before settling in Gillette, Wyoming in 1968. Pete started work for various construction companies including his own, eventually retiring from Eldridge Excavation Inc. He was a longtime active member of St. Matthews Catholic church, the American Legion Post #42 and the Eagles Lodge. Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing, coaching little league, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Pete especially loved spending time watching his grandchildren at various sporting events. He will be dearly missed by his two daughters Roxanne Casey and Kris Jodozi; his son Jake Jodozi, his 4 grandchildren Corbin and Danielle Jodozi and Amanda and Melissa Casey; 1 great granddaughter Taylin Johnson; his two sisters Jeanine Jensen, and Sally Jodozi-Laudolff.He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Sharon and his brother Richard. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to American Legion Post 42 Help a Vet Fund or Pilots for Christ.
