A celebration of life for Garret Saunders will be held this Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Family Life Church with Marty Crump officiating. Garret Alexander Saunders, age 24, formerly of Gillette, passed away on Thursday, April 23rd, 2015 in St. Paul, Minnesota. On that night, heaven became blessed with one more angel. Garret was born on November 8th, 1990 in Gillette, Wyoming. He attended Campbell County Schools, graduating in 2009. Recreationally, he enjoyed wakeboarding, snowboarding and hunting. Throughout the years, Garrett also participated in soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. He was a linebacker on the 2008 state championship CCHS football team, where he kicked the winning field goal. After graduation he attended college at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana and University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. Garret was very charismatic and is loved by many. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. Growing up, he enjoyed extensive travel with family and loved summers on the lake. Garret worked on his grandparent's ranch in the summer, Saunders Land and Livestock. On July 2, 2011, he was blessed with a beautiful daughter, and the love of his life, Ayden Rylan Saunders. Ayden is a mirror image of her father; not only in looks, but also in personality. Garret enjoyed taking her to the park, lake, and spending quality time with her. Garret is survived by his daughter Ayden Saunders, parents Sam and Lisa (Tonn) Saunders, brother Ben Saunders, sister Madison Saunders, grandparents Raymond and Cynthia Saunders all of Gillette, Wyoming, grandfather Terry Tonn of Thermopolis, Wyoming, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a nephew. Garret is preceded in death by his grandmother Marilyn Pivik, his uncle, Mike Tonn and a cousin, Rachel Haid. A memorial has been established to benefit the Y.E.S House, 905 N.
