Funeral Services for Betty L. Howell will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at First Southern Baptist Church in Moorcroft, WY. Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Gillette Memorial Chapel.Betty L. Howell, age 82 passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Primrose Retirement Community. Betty Howell was born on April 16, 1932 to Chris and Vernona (Stewart) Savoie in Roswell, NM. At a young age she moved with her family to Carlsbad, NM where she grew up. Betty attended the catholic school there. She went to work at the hospital as a nurse and helped in delivery, later working as an X-Ray technician. At the young age of 16, Betty met the love of her life, Jack Howell. Shortly after meeting they married on October 1, 1948. In 1960 Betty and Jack moved to Casper, WY where Betty found a job cooking for numerous ranches in the area. The next few years following Jack's work as an iron worker, the couple ended up in Pine Haven, WY where they lived for 30 years. Betty enjoyed reading and crocheting. She had a love for her two German schnauzers. Betty also enjoyed going fishing with Jack. Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years; Jack Howell, and sister; Lavair Hibble of Moab, Utah. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Marie and Pat, and nephew; Frankie.
