Florence Jean Eliason

Memorial Services for Florence Jean Eliason, age 65 of Gillette, WY will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at First Assembly of God Church in Gillette, WY with Pastor Dan Holden officiating. A Remembrance of Life gathering will take place at 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2015 at First Assembly of God Church. Florence Jean (Tibbs) Eliason was born on March 14, 1950 in Pierre, SD to Bethel (Miller) and Frank "Shortlog" Tibbs. She attended school until the second grade at Mission Ridge, SD. The family then moved to Ridgeview, SD where she graduated the 8th grade. She attended her high school years in Eagle Butte, SD graduating in 1968. After high school she went on to attend cosmetology school in Aberdeen, SD. Following completion from cosmetology school she moved to Fort Pierre, SD and worked in Pierre, SD perusing her career as a beautician. She later moved to Belle Fourche, SD and operated her own beauty shop. In 1974, she moved to Dupree, SD to help her brother Mike and caring for his children after the death of his wife. While in Dupree she also operated a beauty shop. On May 12, 1979 she married Lloyd Eliason. Florence and Lloyd had three sons. Florence and Lloyd moved to Gillette in 1981. In Gillette she managed three convenience stores; Antelope Kwik Shop, Maverik and Common Cents. Her final jobs before retirement were the Coal Lab Manager for SGS Minerals at Belle Ayr Mine and also a courier for Eagle Couriers. Florence enjoyed crocheting, attending all her children and grandchildren's activities. Florence had a heart of gold and would be there whenever anyone needed a helping hand. She was enjoying her time in retirement. Florence is survived by her sons; Brett (Wendi) Eliason, and Travis (Amber) Eliason of Gillette, WY, step-sons; Carl (Joan) Eliason of Grand Island, NE, Darin (Shelly) Eliason of Gillette, WY, and Dale (Jacinta) Eliason of Gillette, WY , sister; Lila Taton of Newell, SD, brothers; Bernie (Dorothy) Tibbs of Ridgeview, SD and Mike Tibbs of Pierre, SD, grandchildren; Isaac, Lydia, Brandi, Bradley, Danica, Alex, Alysha, Dale Jr., Zane, Garcia, Marlene, Kaden and Florence Jean, along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband; Lloyd, son; Zane Eliason, parents; Bethel and Shortlog Tibbs, brothers; Pat Tibbs and Jesse "Jake" Thompson, and sister-in-law; Kay Tibbs.
