Funeral services for Vera Katherine Deeder Hall, 86, of Gillette, WY will be held Sat. March 28st at the First Presbyterian Church of Moorcroft at 10:30 a.m. with Pastors Monte Rauschenberg and Shayla Graham (Great Niece) officiating. A time of prayer and gathering of family and friends will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday March 27th also at the First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft. The body was cremated and interment will be on the family plot at the Moorcroft Cemetery. "V.K." was brought into this world by the hands of her father at their home in Sundance on March 1, 1929 and left this earth on March 20th, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at Close to Home Hospice in Gillette. She was the 2nd daughter born to Otis and Vera Mattox Deeder. She grew up on Thorn Divide and graduated from Moorcroft High School in 1947. Vera attended Central Business College in Denver. Her first job was with the Bureau of Reclamation during the construction of Keyhole Dam. Vera married Dexter Hall on June 27, 1949 at Sheridan, WY. This 17-year union brought their four children: Nancy Kay, Susan Ann, Diana Lee and Steven Ray. Her most important job was mother to her children. During the many years that she was home with the kids, Vera was always active in community work: the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Beta Sigma Phi, Girl Scouts, 4-H, First Presbyterian Church of Moorcroft, and later, First Christian Church of Gillette. She was a bookkeeper for many years, starting with Kummerfeld Construction, News Record and Stockman's Bank. After everyone graduated from MHS, she moved to Gillette in 1975. Following early retirement from Stockman's Bank in 1978, Vera went on to work at the Paper Clip, Jim's Water Service, Gillette Police Dept, Campbell County Cemetery Board, and retired from the Campbell County Senior Center. She always worked a variety of additional jobs from cleaning to waiting tables to doing elder care for people in their homes. Vera's quiet passion was her small Hobby Hall business. Her hobbies were crocheting, ceramics, bowling, dancing, painting, refinishing furniture, playing cards, going to Deadwood, feeding the squirrels and playing Bingo at the Manor. She always looked forward to time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending school and sports activities for all. She is survived by her children: Nancy Feehan of Moorcroft, Susan (Clif) Giest of Rochester, MN, Diana (Terry) Nebelsick of Huron, SD and Steven Hall of Denver, CO; 8 grandchildren with 5 spouses and 11 great grandchildren; her sister Mary Gauthier of Milwaukie, Oregon, and many nieces/ nephews, great nieces/great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Jessie Sowa and Juanita Griffith.
