Mackenzie was born on December 30, 2002 to Nathan and Christina Gross in Jamestown, ND. The family moved to Gillette, WY in 2003. Despite her many challenges, Mackenzie always brought the best out of everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her. Mackenzie enjoyed spending time with her family. She adored her three sisters Madison, Morgan and Maesen. They always had a way to make her laugh and smile, they were the light of her life. Mackenzie was a true daddy's girl and loved dancing with him more than anything in the world. Mackenzie and her mommy were a terrific team, sometimes it seemed like it was the two of them against the world. Mackenzie loved her mommy's off-the-wall sense of humor that had a way of getting them through this amazing, yet, incredibly challenging journey. Makenzie loved her Grandma Eva dearly. She was completely devoted to Mackenzie and this made giving Mackenzie's sisters an opportunity for a somewhat "normal" life. Mackenzie and Grandma Eva will forever share a very special bond. Mackenzie brought so many amazing people into her family's lives, people whose paths never would have otherwise crossed. We are so grateful for all of these amazing friends that have become more like family. She was a pure, innocent soul with a larger than life personality and fearless disposition. She will be forever loved and missed.Mackenzie is survived by her parents; Nathan and Christina Gross, sisters; Madison Gross, Morgan Gross, and Maeson Gross all of Gillette, brother; Matt Pedersen of Spearfish, SD, grandmothers; Eva Gross of Gillette, Debby Penne of Dallas, TX, Uncle Scott (Tammy) Gross of Belle Fourche, SD, Uncle Steve (Susie) Gross of Belle Fourche, SD, Aunt Lorrie (Josh) Keele of Billings, MT, Uncle Todd Wood of Dallas, TX, Aunt Meredith (Justin) Buie of Denton, TX, and many numerous cousins.
