Clifford Lawrence Martin

Clifford L. Martin, age 78, surrounded by his family, went to his heavenly home on March 13, 2015 in the early morning hours at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming after his courageous fight against complications arising out of lung cancer . Clifford made the choice to discontinue treatment and he was able to express his love for his family and that he was ready to go Home. Visitation for the public will be held on March 18th at Walker Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyoming from 4-7 PM with a special family visitation scheduled at 3PM. Funeral services will be held at Roadway Alliance Church in Gillette on Thursday, March 19th at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon following the service at the Church. Interment is scheduled for Friday, March 20th at 4:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Bismarck, North Dakota. Following Interment, friends and family are invited to gather in celebration of Cliff's life at Jacks Supper Club in Bismarck. Clifford L. Martin was born September 24, 1936 in Wing North Dakota to Emanuel and Cecelia (Hellman) Martin. He met his wife Dorothy Ann Haux while on leave from active duty in the Navy and in 1961 Clifford and Dorothy were married in McClusky, North Dakota. After Clifford earned an Applied Science Degree from the State School of Science in Wapheton, North Dakota Clifford and Dorothy settled down in Bismarck, where Clifford worked as a Mechanic for Farmers Union and thereafter, worked as a Machinist for Burlington Northern Railroad (BNSF). Clifford and Dorothy moved to Glendive Montana in 1985 where Clifford continued to work for BNSF until his retirement in 2004. Thereafter Clifford and Dorothy moved back to North Dakota until August of 2013 at which time they moved to Gillette Wyoming. Clifford was a quiet man with a generous heart toward his family. Clifford was a wonderful husband always taking care of Dorothy's needs and desires. He was the best father a daughter could ask for in this life. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, old western movies, and working in his yard and garden. Clifford liked to build things and was meticulous in his work. He was always working on some project or another. He was a hard worker, a good provider and he gave of himself up until God took him home. Clifford is preceded in Death by his parents, Emanuel and Cecelia Martin, his brother Delford "Jim" Martin, his sisters Judy Martin and Lillian (Charles-D) Trusty. Clifford is survived by his wife Dorothy; his daughters TaLisa (Charles) Nemec and Tamara (Eugene) Henriques; his granddaughter Kayleigh Lassle; his grandsons Charles Nemec, James Nemec, and Clifford Nemec; his great grandson Johnathon Olivas, his sisters Betty (Don D) Johnson, Loretta (Dave) Ouellette, and Nancy (Dick) Mund, his brother Lloyd (Berna) Martin; numerous nieces and nephews, many new and long time friends, and his beloved cat, Babe.
