Memorial service for Marlene Giest will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Nebelsick officiating. Marlene, age 80 passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, Montana of natural causes. Edna Marlene Giest was born on September 22, 1934 the daughter of Russell and Clara (Jennings) LaFurge in Fromberg, Montana. She was raised and educated in the Fromberg area and graduated high school. She met Bill Giest and they were married on June 1, 1952 in Bridger, Montana. Marlene and Bill had five children and when young Marlene stayed at home with the children. She had the opportunity to work as a waitress in Montana and also as a bartender in Wyoming after the couple moved to Gillette in 2002. Marlene enjoyed in her spare time to crochet, reading and cooking. Her most memorable times were spent with her family, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marlene is survived by her husband of sixty two years, William "Bill" Giest of Gillette, WY, her son Clif (Susan) Giest of Rochester, MN, her four daughters, Gail (Duke) Grant of Orting, WA, Linda (Lee) Sigman of Cody, WY, Deb Firnekas of Rock Springs, WY, and Terri (Mike) Weber of Wright, WY, one sister, Vera Boyer of Billings, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Helen Estes. A memorial has been established in Marlene's name.
