Funeral Services for Dixie Curry will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Christian Church of Gillette, George Keralis officiating. Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 Gillette Memorial Chapel. Dixie Ann Curry, 69 years old from Gillette, Wyoming, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 in Phoenix Arizona after battling a lengthy illness of pneumonia. Dixie was born May 6, 1945 in Gillette, Wyoming to Kenneth & Dorothy Mooney. Dixie had a wonderful childhood and was raised in Gillette with her two older siblings, Juanita and Peggy. Dixie met the love of her life, Albert Curry and was married on May 4, 1963. Dixie was a loving mother of 5 children, Terry, Jodie, Dixie, Albert and Teressa. Dixie worked for over 20 years for the Campbell County School District at the high school as a cook and a janitor. Wanting to do more after retiring from the school district she went back to school to study for her Real Estate License. Dixie was very proud to have passed her Realtor's Exams on her 1st attempt and become a realtor for ERA Boardwalk. Dixie loved outdoor activities, camping and boating with her family, riding motorcycles in the mountains, softball and volleyball with her church. She loved water sports, Skiing/Tubing and was always ready to try new tricks. Dixie was a celebrated cook and artist. She loved to cook for her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and loved to play pranks of her friends and family. Dixie's favorite past time was shopping, never for herself. She loved to buy things for others. Dixie is survived by her husband Albert Curry of Gillette, her sister Peggy (Gary) Cheadle of Gillette, her children Jodie (Richard) Cox of Gillette, Dixie L. Curry of Gillette, Albert (Claudette) Curry of Phoenix, AZ and Teressa Lorenz of North Port, FL., grandchildren; Kristy Jennings, Brandon and Tyler Cox, Terry Curry, Tiffany Bloem, Teisha Curry, Kearstin Apodaka, Victoria Bird, and Anthony Lorenz and 5 beloved great grandchildren, along with many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by both her parents; Kenneth ad Dorothy Mooney, her son; Terry Curry, sister; Juanita Henson, sister in law; Shirley Marshal, and nephew; Garry Cheadle.
