Memorial Service for Douglas G. Fitch will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Gillette Memorial Chapel with Erik Bergquist officiating. Doug Fitch age 82, a longtime resident of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Pioneer Manor of natural causes. Douglas G. Fitch was born on November 12, 1932 to Leona (DeCoursey) and Glen "Punk" Fitch in Gillette, WY. Doug attended and graduated from high school in Gillette, WY. While in high school Doug enjoyed playing basketball and other athletics. Doug or as most people knew him "Cowboy Doug" worked for numerous cattle ranches throughout his life mostly in Campbell, Johnson and Sheridan counties and one in the Rapid City, South Dakota area. He also ran a wholesale grocery business, and owned a hotel and bowling alley in Gillette. He was also a trained meat cutter. Doug was married to Louise (Steffe) Martin and with this union came three children, 2 daughters; Kathy and Sherry and a son; Dougie. The couple later divorced. Doug will be remembered as a man who loved having a good time and lived life to the fullest. Doug is survived by his daughters; Kathy Jo TeMott of California, and Sherry Louise Huberger of Reno, NV, and Bonnie Fitch of Lead, South Dakota, brother; Wally Koers of Salina, KS, along with numerous aunts, uncles, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son; Dougie Fitch, brother; Gary Fitch and his parents. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Doug's name to Pioneer Manor.
