Arvia Stjerna Beck Memorial service for Stjerna Beck will be held at 10 am, Wednesday January 7, 2015 at the Walker Funeral Home in Gillette, WY. Arvia "Sterjna" Beck, age 76, passed away December 29, 2014 at Pioneer Manor in Gillette, WY. Arvia "Stjerna" Beck was born to Russell Medbery and Eleanor (Bennett) Medbery on February 12th, 1938 in Norwalk, Ct. Russell passed away when Stjerna was almost two years old. Eleanor married Aurthor Jay Wallace on November 2nd, 1941. Aurthor adopted Stjerna and her sister Shiela. Due to Aurthor being in the Navy it caused them to move around the states. Aurthor passed away before a move to California, where the Navy still moved Eleanor and the girls. While in California Stjerna met and married James Hatfield in San Francisco, of this union three children were born Jay, Stormy, and Samantha. When James was discharged from the Navy, they moved to Wyoming and Montana. Throughout the years they worked on several different ranches, finally settling in Gillette. James and Stjerna later divorced and she married Jerry L. Beck in 1976. Upon marrying Jerry she became very active with American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary. She drove school bus for C.C.S.D. for several years, along with various other jobs. Stjernas most recent job was at Market Street Auto. In her retirement years she enjoyed life with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She passed on after a courageous 5 year battle with C.O.P.D. Stjerna is preceded in death by her parents Russell Medbery, Aurthor and Eleanor Wallace, her sister Sheila Wallace, her husband's James Hatfield and Jerry Beck, an infant daughter Dawn and, son-in-law Steve Bell. She is survived by her children Jay (Sherry) Hatfield, Stormy Clarke and Samantha (Ryan) Wilson. Also by her grandchildren Wendi Bell, Justin (Tori) Pfaff, Levi (Tessa) Bennett, Brandon (Cody) Peterson, Michael (Patricia) Cridland, Eric (Kaitlin) Peterson, Jayme (Matthew) Belville, Hailey (Brody) Erickson, James Cridland, Lane Wilson, Morganne Rose Wilson, Hannah Wilson and 19 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Legion Auxiliary, Wyoming Department, Girls state Scholarship Fund.
