Donald Lewis Whisler

Donald "Don" L. Whisler, age 78, of Gillette, WY passed away peacefully at Pioneer Manor in Gillette, WY on November 28, 2014. He was born May 25, 1936 to David R. and Marjorie A. Whisler.Don was very well known in the oilfield sales business and as a former rancher. His furrows were the straightest and his haystacks the squarest. Donald proudly served his country in both the United States Army and and United States Navy, being stationed in Iceland. He was married to Patricia Fitzgerald in 1958. To this union for children were born. The couple later divorced in 1986. Don loved going elk hunting every year so he could eat Pat's good cooking and listen to the football games with his buddies. He was an avid member of the Elks Lodge and did many charitable events. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, several aunts, uncles, and his niece Deb. Don is survived by his sisters Delores McGillis of Gillette, Barbara Whisler of Sheridan, his children Donald T. (Denise) Whisler of Lewistown, MT; Michael D. (Billie) Whisler of Rozet, Wy, Andrea D. (Chad) Whisler of Casper, WY, Adrienne Whisler of Las Vegas, NV, nephew David and Leonard McGillis, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Walker Funeral Home 410 Medical Arts Court Gillette, WY 82716 to be distributed to Don's favorite charities.
