Memorial Service with potluck for Douglas Padberg will be held at 2:00p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Moose Lodge 2704 Hackathorne Lane. The family invites you to come share your favorite Doug stories with family and friends. Douglas Padberg died at home on Friday, November 21, 2014. His passing with peaceful and quiet at home with family, as he wanted it, on his terms just like his life. Douglas was born in Pendleton, Oregon on November 28, 1959. He started school in Oregon and finished at CCHS in Gillette. Doug accomplished many things. He excelled at welding, heavy equipment operations, and he found his home in the oilfield. Doug married his best friend and soul mate Barbara. Doug and Barbara just finished building their dream home, which they designed and built themselves. On more accomplishment in his life, and one that made him proud. Doug never met a stranger; he spent 40 years in Gillette. Family was always his priority, although most people he met "were family." He was someone you could call when you couldn't call anyone else. Doug is survived by his loving wife Barbara, son; Douglas Jr., daughter; Amanda, and four grandchildren. Also by his mother; Dixie and stepdad; Harvey Reeves, brothers; Gene, Tony, and Jerry, sisters; Deborah, Joyce, Kathy and Mayme and their spouses. He enjoyed a large loving extended family. He is preceded in death by his father; Vernon E. Padberg Sr., grandparents; Alyce and Elmo Billow; and Archie Padberg Sr. and Susan Whitman.
